Diana Hope Sokolove, AMFT, APCC

I am Diana, a pansexual, cis- and able-bodied female, entering my crone years. You will find me to be compassionate, curious, practical, and playful. Originally from New York, I moved to San Francisco nearly 25 years ago to find a place to express myself freely, engage in urban and political issues, and enjoy majestic green spaces. While my wishes have largely come true, they have come with the difficulties of living in a fast-paced culture and facing today’s challenges, like climate change and the politics around sustaining basic human rights. I have gone through many changes in my life, including different careers and sexual identities.

My work with clients and my life experiences have shown me that feeling grounded, resilient, and connected happens in a supportive environment where all emotions and ideas are welcomed without judgment.

This understanding and acceptance help us to see ourselves and our choices more clearly. By making space for your experiences, I hope you will find your center, learn new skills, and build a deeper connection with yourself, your life, and those around you. Healing is a journey we will co-create together.

I am dedicated to continuously learning about and addressing my biases and have experience working with individuals and couples with various backgrounds and identities. As a therapist, I weave together mindfulness and somatic (body-based) approaches with talk therapy and Internal Family Systems (parts work) to fully support you and your uniqueness. My interests include working with developmental trauma, anxiety and mood disorders, ADHD, and life transitions. I am sex- and body-positive, trauma-aware, and affirming of all beings.
